In a significant operation, the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies, has dismantled the supreme headquarters of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Mother Valley, Orsu council area of Imo State.

Speaking to journalists at Eke Ututu, Orsu Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo, Maj.-Gen. Hassan Dada, the Force Commander of Joint Task Force South-East, Operation Udo Ka, disclosed the successful raid and destruction of the IPOB stronghold.

Operation Udo Ka, launched on February 11, 2024, mobilized troops from various security outfits, including the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Nigerian Police Force, Department of State Services, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Maj.-Gen. Dada emphasized that the operation resulted in the liberation of several towns, including Ihiteukwa, Eke Ututu, and Ihittenansa in Imo State, as well as Orsumoghu and Lilu towns in Ihiala and Ekwusigo LGAs of Anambra State.

The commander revealed that the IPOB's headquarters, situated deep within the Mother Valley spanning Orsu and Ihiala LGAs of Imo and Anambra, respectively, posed a formidable challenge due to its strategic location, concealed amidst dense forests and difficult terrain.

He stated, "It is about 5,000 feet below sea level," underscoring the complexity of the terrain that provided cover for the terrorists' activities.

During the operation, which culminated in the final assault on Thursday, March 7, the troops encountered numerous Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and obstacles, which were successfully detonated and cleared.

Additionally, the joint forces engaged the terrorists in combat, neutralizing many and causing others to flee with gunshot wounds into the surrounding wilderness.

A plethora of weapons, equipment, and incriminating items were seized during the raid, including firearms, ammunition, communication devices, and paraphernalia associated with terrorist activities.

Among the recovered items were firearms, ammunition, explosives, communication devices, flags, uniforms, and documents detailing ammunition and logistical supplies.

The troops also demolished numerous structures within the valley, including the Supreme Headquarters of IPOB/ESN, command centers, logistical bases, and sites used for occultic rituals.

The successful operation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat insurgency and restore peace and stability to the region.

Keep wasting your energy in Igboland while North is boiling. Go to Kaduna, Nasarawa, Zamfara, Benue, Plateau and the rest. Terrorists camps everywhere. We can hear the cries of little school children in the captivity of your terrorists. You can only dismantle and neutralize in Igboland while your elders in the North are negotiating with terrorists. You are indeed the problem plaguing Nigeria.
