A legendary wrestler has died just hours after his final match when his health “suddenly deteriorated”

Yutaka Yoshie, 50, was confirmed dead by All Japan Pro Wrestling, the company which Yoshie wrestled his final match under. He had been wrestling as part of the Takasaki tournament and died just hours after what would be his final bout.

The company confirmed his death earlier today (Sunday, March 10) with the one-time AJPW World Tag Team Champion falling ill in the locker room soon and being rushed to hospital.

A statement read: “After Yutaka Yoshie returned to the waiting room after the game, his condition suddenly deteriorated, and he was rushed to a hospital in Takasaki City, but he never returned home.”
