Personnel from the Isheri-Osun Police Division made a significant arrest over the weekend, apprehending an individual masquerading as a Sergeant Major (RSM) while donned in full military camouflage. The suspect, identified as Femi Balogun, was apprehended around 3 pm on Saturday within the confines of Ijegun, a riverine community notorious for its association with pipeline vandalism and harboring nefarious elements.
Reports indicate that Balogun, who purportedly appeared on the Nigerian Army's wanted list, was apprehended by vigilant operatives during a routine patrol along the premises of Fagbile Estate in Ijegun. The swift action of the police resulted in the detainment of the suspect without any resistance.
Confirming the arrest, Police spokesman, Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin, verified that Balogun's true identity as a fraudulent soldier was confirmed following interrogation and communication with military authorities.
