In a significant blow to terrorism in the region, troops engaged in Counter Terrorism Counter Insurgency operations successfully raided the hideout of a notorious terrorist kingpin known as Yellow Janbros at Dangunu Village in Zamfara State.

The operation, carried out on April 8, 2024, resulted in the elimination of a high-ranking terrorist and the recovery of a cache of weapons, the Nigerian Army announced in a statement released on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the targeted raid was meticulously planned, aiming to dismantle the stronghold of the terrorist group responsible for numerous kidnappings and acts of terrorism across North West Nigeria.

"The troops overpowered and dislodged the terrorists, neutralizing one of their leaders in the process," the statement read.

In addition to eliminating the threat posed by the terrorist leader, the gallant soldiers also seized valuable assets from the enclave, including one AK-47 Rifle, One AK-47 Magazine, and 30 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition. Furthermore, the troops discovered and recovered one hundred and fifty bags of stolen grains, believed to have been plundered by the terrorist group.

The successful operation marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against insurgency and terrorism in the region. The destruction of the terrorists' enclave further underscores the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Army to ensure the safety and security of citizens.

"The Nigerian Army remains resolute in mitigating security challenges and will spare no effort in eliminating terrorists and insurgents from our nation," the statement affirmed.

The raid serves as a testament to the bravery and dedication of the Nigerian troops in their tireless efforts to rid the country of the scourge of terrorism and restore peace to affected regions.
