Renowned singer and music producer, John Udomboso, popularly known as Young John, has revealed that the passing of his mother served as a catalyst for his shift from music production to singing.
In an insightful interview with Nandi Madida on Apple Music's Africa Now Radio, the Aquafina crooner shared the deeply personal journey that led to his decision to step into the spotlight as a vocalist.
Reflecting on the pivotal moment, Young John expressed, "What really triggered that was back in 2017 when I lost my mum. I started spending so much time by myself... That period made me start putting out music, because I never really planned to do that."
Despite the unexpected turn of events, the talented artist emphasized his gratitude for the journey, stating, "It feels so good and amazing. I feel blessed, regardless of what the outcome is. I never saw this coming, and I did not plan for it."
Offering a glimpse into his upcoming debut album, Young John teased fans with promises of "big summer vibes" that perfectly encapsulate the essence of the season.
Sharing insights into his creative process, the multifaceted artist revealed, "When I was recording the album, I had no idea I was actually doing that... I was just having fun, and doing my thing, like I always do."
