In a brazen act of violence, gunmen have abducted Alhaja Seliat Raji, the sister of prominent philanthropist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Barrister Ahmed Raji, from her residence in Iseyin, Oyo State.

The chilling incident unfolded at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, May 16, 2024, sending shockwaves through the community and sparking widespread concern over the safety of residents.

According to eyewitnesses, the masked assailants descended upon the residence under the cover of darkness, ruthlessly executing the security guard stationed at the premises before swiftly apprehending their target, who was reportedly watching television in the sitting room.

In a chilling display of audacity, the kidnappers made their escape in the victim's Lexus car, leaving behind a scene of chaos and distress.

A member of the Raji family, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the harrowing ordeal, revealing that the kidnappers have since established contact with the SAN, conveying their demands for ransom. However, the exact amount requested remains undisclosed, plunging the family into a state of panic and uncertainty.

As the community grapples with the aftermath of this heinous act, concerns mount over the escalating threat of insecurity plaguing the region. The abduction of Alhaja Seliat Raji serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive menace posed by criminal elements and underscores the urgent need for decisive action to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in Iseyin and beyond.
