The Bayelsa State Police Command Force, on Thursday, declared thirteen persons wanted over an alleged threat to peace in Yenagoa, the state’s capital city.

The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Musa Mohammed, in a statement, said the 13 suspects are guilty of conducting a youth election that threatened the peace of the state.

It was gathered that the police had earlier issued a warning that preparations and all related activities towards the conduct of the Epie Atissa Youth Council Election, be suspended.

”We also gathered that the youths still went ahead with the election disregarding the warning of the police and the state government”, the Police said.

The command listed the names of the declared persons as Daniel D Daniel, Koffi Osomewo, Kalime Odede, Daniel Kiebo Johnbull, Tavie Clement and Yaviekume Super Japhet.

Others are Kieme ThankGod, Kieboye Appah, Famvie Berebo, Henry Okosi, Elliot Tokumbo, Faith Fabiri, and Clinton Wanbira Friday.

The statement read in parts
Quote
”INTERNAL SECURITY: SUSPENSION OF EPIE ATISSA YOUTH COUNCIL ELECTION AND RELATED ACTIVITIES

”Due to the recent disturbances and the involvement of unauthorized individuals in the Epie Atissa Youth Council Election, the decision has been made to suspend the election and all related activities. The push by various interest groups for multiple election venues threatens the social harmony currently maintained in Yenagoa.

”The state capital will not compromise its security and peace due to the actions of unruly youths who are unable to reach a simple understanding through civil processes.

”Therefore, all processes related to the Epie Atissa Youth Council Election are suspended until further notice. Anyone caught disrupting or breaching the peace will be dealt with.

”The Command therefore urges all parties to remain calm and adhere to this directive to ensure the continued safety and harmony of our community”.
