Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has commented on the recent statements made by Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka. According to Charly Boy, Soyinka's remarks indicate that he is aging with "some level of brain deterioration."

In a post shared on his Instagram page, CharlyBoy wrote;

‘’Prof. Wole Soyinka is aged over 80yrs, even tending towards 90yrs. For his age, some level of brain deterioration is not unexpected. His rhetorics and actions in recent times is suggestive of deteriorating brain disease, and as such he shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

What we should be worried about as well meaning Nigerians, is how come his family and close friends can’t ward off agents of desperate politicians who are bent on exploiting his medical situation to their advantage, no matter how low it sinks the once respected Nobel Laureate.''

Soyinka, known for his profound literary contributions and socio-political commentary, has been an influential figure in Nigeria and beyond.

As people age, it's not uncommon for their perspectives and statements to attract scrutiny, especially if they have been prominent public figures.

Charly Boy's remark seems to reflect a critical view of Soyinka's recent public engagements, suggesting that his advanced age may be affecting his cognitive abilities.
