The chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has revealed that 10 teenage girls between 15 and 18 trafficked to Ghana have been rescued.
The girls reportedly rescued by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), were said to have been lured into prostitution in Ghana.
Erewa disclosed this in a series of tweet she shared on her X handle on Friday, June 7.
She wrote:
"Honestly. the traffickers need to be named and shamed! They are worse than drug barons !! And as long as they are walking about freely , innocent young children will continue to be trafficked!."
According to one of the girls, “They give us out to men, and they don’t give us money; they collect everything.”
Chief Callistus Elozieuwa, the Chairman of NIDO, appealed for support to ensure the girls’ safe return to Nigeria.
Dabiri-Erewa called on the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons to take decisive action.

How could someone be so cruel as to transport his own younger sister to Ghana in order to prostitution? He didn't stop there; in order to get S£x job in Ghana, he trafficked three young sisters from the same parents who live in the same LGA as him—Ideato South LGA in Imo State.… pic.twitter.com/3S01JygCf1
