The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has reiterated his dedication to realizing President Bola Tinubu’s ambitious agenda for Nigeria. His remarks came during a visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), at Ile-Ife, according to a statement released by the anti-graft agency on Friday.

Addressing the monarch and gathered dignitaries, Mr. Olukoyede emphasized that his actions as a public servant are driven solely by the desire to achieve President Tinubu’s strategic plans for a better Nigeria. "Let me state this clearly: all that I do in the course of discharging my duties as a public servant is not to witch-hunt anybody and not for any personal reasons but to ensure that the grand strategic plans of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards a better Nigeria are achieved,” he affirmed.

Highlighting the support received from the federal government, Mr. Olukoyede reassured that the EFCC operates independently without interference from President Tinubu. “Since I was appointed the chairman of the EFCC, the president has never called me to stop, impose, dictate or prescribe any directive as regards the affairs or activities of the commission," he clarified. He also noted that the commission has received robust backing from the government to fulfill its mandate effectively.

In response, the Ooni of Ife commended Mr. Olukoyede’s commitment, affirming that President Tinubu’s vision for a corruption-free Nigeria resonates deeply. “This shows that truly, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu stands to achieve a corrupt-free nation, and we all must support him by contributing our quotas,” the monarch stated.

The visit underscored ongoing efforts to combat corruption and advance national development goals under the leadership of President Tinubu, as articulated by the EFCC chairman during his engagement with the Ooni of Ife.
