A tragic road accident on the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode road claimed the lives of two individuals and left three others injured on Sunday morning. The collision, which involved an Ash Howo Truck with no registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry car (registration number APP478FS), occurred around 11:28 a.m.

Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, confirmed the incident to journalists in Abeokuta. She stated that a rescue operation was swiftly carried out by the FRSC Zebra 50 team from the Ijebu Ode Unit Command.

Okpe attributed the accident to overspeeding and loss of control, resulting in a fatal collision between the two vehicles. “The crash involved two vehicles: an Ash Howo Truck with no registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry Car with registration number APP478FS. Five people were involved in the crash—one male adult and four female adults. A total of two people were killed, one male and one female, while three females were injured,” she detailed.

The injured victims were transported to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited in the morgue.

Sector Commander CC Anthony Uga expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and urged motorists to avoid overspeeding and remain fully attentive while driving.
