Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the president and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, has addressed the recent fire incident at the church’s headquarters in Lagos. During a live Sunday service at the church’s campground in Asese, Oyakhilome assured his congregation that the fire was not a setback but an opportunity for growth and improvement.

Early on Sunday morning, social media was flooded with videos showing the Christ Embassy building in Oregun, Ikeja, engulfed in flames. The incident sparked widespread concern among followers and the general public.

In his address, Pastor Chris stated,
“Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident. During the 2001 Ikeja cantonment bombing incident, the building vibrated so much and we thought it was going to collapse. I thought to myself that if it collapsed, I was going to build a bigger, better one. At the end of the day, it didn’t collapse and we called the engineers to see if there was any need to bring it down and rebuild, but it was still okay. Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one and the devil will lick his wound.”
He emphasized that such challenges are opportunities for divine intervention and improvement. His message was one of resilience and faith, encouraging his followers to look forward to a more magnificent edifice in the future.

The Lagos State Fire Service promptly responded to the emergency, working diligently to control the blaze. Their swift action ensured that the situation was brought under control without further escalation.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing. Despite the disruption, Pastor Chris's message has resonated with many, reinforcing the community's resolve and optimism.

This incident marks a significant moment for Christ Embassy, highlighting the leadership's focus on turning adversity into triumph. The commitment to rebuilding and improving the church’s infrastructure stands as a testament to their faith and determination.

Let's hope it's a symbolic sign of God fighting back against His name being used for extortion and deceit of poor, vulnerable and gullible people.
