Family accuses man of killing his wife, their daughter; Man’s lawyer claims man was not around and that wife died from sickle cell complications

On the 18th of May, Mrs.Olufunmilayo Mary-Anne Oluwawemimo was allegedly Vi@lently Murde@red by Her Husband in their home in Lugbe, Abuja. Activists took up the case, getting the minister of women affairs involved and getting on media channels.

However, the lawyer of the accused’s husband posted on X denying all allegations that the late Funmi was killed by her husband. He mentioned that the autopsy results revealed the immediate cause of her death as a “Haemorrhagic stroke” due to sickle cell.

The lawyer also accused the family of his client’s late wife of seeking sole custody of the couple’s son, asking for the sale of the couple’s car and washing machine, portraying the family as money-driven.

Now, the younger brother of the late Funmi is challenging the lawyer’s claims and alleging that his sister was a victim of domestic violence.
