A Nigerian lady named Ruqayyah, also known as Design Queen Ruqayyah, recently celebrated her graduation from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after a journey marked by significant setbacks. She initially started her studies in 2012, majoring in computer science, but had to leave the university in 2014, just two years into her program.
Undeterred, Ruqayyah took the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam again and was re-admitted to UNILAG in 2017. This time, she pursued a degree in estate management. After seven more years of dedication and perseverance, she finally graduated in 2024, completing a 10-year journey toward her degree.
Ruqayyah shared her story on X (formerly Twitter), expressing her gratitude for finally reaching this milestone despite the challenges she faced along the way.
She said; “2012 I gained admission to study computer science in UNILAG. 2014, I was withdrawn and it felt like life had ended. Wrote jamb twice till I gained admission again in 2017 to study Estate Management in UNILAG. It took me 10 years but I finally did it.”
