What's the Nigerian Ambassador to China doing there anyway? Is he sleeping? I suggest that he should be recalled, redeployed or disgraced back home if he can't rise up to the ugly challenge.

I will start with a disclaimer: I do not support the unfair treatments of Nigerians in
China. But I will give four reasons for the official chinese hardline and inhumane
policy towards nigerians. These are from accounts in Chinese (English language)
newspapers in Hong Kong and elsewhere in china.

First, some nigerian fraudsters  pretending to be businessmen stole lots of
merchandise from chinese businesses. They were able to do that by paying for
goods with fake checks, and/or forged letters of credits. Initially, the chinese
were fooled and made to lose face. They never forgave Nigerians for those
past frauds. Although those frauds happened very many years ago, Chinese
businessesmen still think that nigerians are fraudsters and should not be trusted.

Second, drug trafficking is a very serious crime in China. Some nigerians got involved
in the business and got caught. That further damaged the reputations of nigerians in
China. Some have been executed... Other are awaiting execution.

Third, some nigerians do not have the appropriate or legal papers to be in China.
They got their forged papers through fraudsters in Nigeria. They should have
made  sure they got the right or legal documents before they left Nigeria for China.
Some Nigerians  stayed in China beyond the time specified on their visas.

Fourth, and perhaps the most stupid of the reasons. Some Nigerians sold their
passports on arrival in China because they were desperate for money. They
then reported their passport stolen. Selling their passport left them vulnerable
to a host of problems. Buyers of clean passports often do so because they
planned to get involved in illegal business.

It is very unfair to treat all nigerians as criminals because of the actions of a few
criminals that happened long time ago. Most of those crimes were committed over
ten years ago. The unfair treatments of nigerians continues to this day.

@Poster- The bottom line is same for all our problems...we need to change our culture back to an African one.

We need to disband the government and let each people govern themselves. There is no point expecting a man referred to as a diplomat being responsible to take care of all Nigerians in a foreighn country. Am sure he has things that matter more to him and his attention would not be caring for a person he will never meet or has never known existed.

We need to accept that Nigeria is an area co-habited by different people of different tribe dialect and culture. These different people have the right to choose a leader amongst themselves. One that is local to the people. If one of them is being mistreated in China or Russia, the leader will be able to make strides in good time to help resolve the situation.

Most people are looking at the BIG economy of Naija as a whole, or it's petroleum. Remeber when the British ruled Naija, there was no petroleum.........

We can do it. We do not need to revenge on people that dont understand life and are not civilized. Let us join hands to disband our government. It wont lead to chaos.............People will govern themselves. Currently we are at the lowest humans can be on earth.

Start with not voting!!!
