A TEXAS millionaire faced a court in the UK today, charged with fatally stabbing his estranged younger British wife 23 times.
Harold Landry, 64, attacked Lucy, 38, with a granite rolling pin in their £800,000 ($1.29 million) home in Pershore, Worcestershire, before chasing her out of the mansion where he stabbed her 23 times and left her to die in a hedge last February, the Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.
The pair - who were living separate lives in the marital home - had apparently been arguing about her boyfriend and money, the Worcester News reported.
Prosecutor Rachel Brand told the court that their relationship had been “pretty volatile,” the Daily Mail reported.
The couple were in the middle of divorce proceedings and Mr Landry, a cancer sufferer, had changed his will to prevent his wife from benefiting in the event of his death.
Mr Landry started an affair in 2009, the same year he discovered that his wife was cheating on him. The couple met on the internet and married in the UK in 2002.
Mr Landry does not deny killing his wife but claims he is guilty of manslaughter, not murder
