In a candid interview with HIPTV, Beverly Osu, a former contestant on a high-profile competition, revealed her unexpected gratitude for not winning the cash prize. The singer humorously attributed her relief to her mother’s fervent prayers, which she believes were crucial in keeping her grounded.

Beverly Osu recounted that her mother was deeply concerned about the potential pitfalls of sudden wealth, fearing it might lead her astray.
Quote
“I’m glad I didn’t win,” Beverly Osu admitted. “At that time, there was nothing I could have done to make me deserving of that win. My mother was praying to God, ‘If this child is going to win this money and go astray, because she has gone astray before, please don’t give it to her.’”

Reflecting on her journey, Beverly Osu expressed that the experience has ultimately been a blessing. She now feels she is succeeding in life, having gained the maturity and wisdom necessary to manage success. “God’s timing is the best,” she said.
Quote
“We’ve achieved more than that prize money could have offered. Back then, I wouldn’t have known how to use it effectively. So far, I’m winning in life now, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.”

Her comments underscore a broader realization that personal growth and timing often outweigh immediate success.
