As part of the 35th anniversary and international convention of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, on Sunday honored 492 first-class graduates and outstanding ministers in a grand ceremony.
During the event, Olukoya praised the achievements of the church's youth, highlighting that MFM now produces the largest number of first-class graduates among churches annually. "Of all the churches I know, MFM now produces the largest number of first-class graduates every year," he said.
This initiative aligns with Olukoya's 70-point agenda aimed at youth empowerment worldwide. Reflecting on the program's origins, Olukoya shared, "In 2010, I declared that any MFM member who excelled academically would receive an official car and cash prizes. Initially, 19 students benefited from the initiative. By 2015, the number had increased to 115. Due to the growing number of exceptional graduates, I sought more sponsors to support this cause."
Today, the number of first-class graduates honored by MFM has surged to over 492, representing various tertiary institutions globally.
The award ceremony was graced by prominent figures, including Lagos State Governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Ogun State Governor Mr. Dapo Abiodun, who joined Pastor Shade Olukoya in presenting the awards.
Some of the beneficiaries described the event as a "dream come true." Fashina Damilola, a graduate of Afe Babalola University, expressed gratitude, saying, "I just want to thank God for using our General Overseer as a source of inspiration to this generation, particularly for us, the youth. It’s my great pleasure to be part of this honor."
Rachael Umoren, a graduate of Macdonald University, also shared her excitement, saying, "I am pleased, honored, and humbled to accept this award and join past recipients whom I have long admired and respected. I deeply appreciate Dr. D.K. Olukoya."
The convention, which began on Friday, witnessed a massive turnout of worshipers from across the country, with many others participating via the church's various alternative channels. The closing ceremony attracted royal fathers, politicians, and delegates from various walks of life and featured spirit-filled activities that demonstrated the awesome power of God.
