There has been notable public outcry among Nigerians regarding the presence of Seyi Tinubu, President Bola Tinubu's first son, at the swearing-in ceremony of the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

The ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, where Kekere-Ekun took her oath of office and signed the oath register at 11:40 am.

Critics have expressed concerns about Seyi Tinubu's involvement in official state matters, questioning the appropriateness of his presence at such a significant judicial event.

Many believe that his attendance may signify undue influence or nepotism within the highest levels of government, which has sparked discussions about transparency and the separation of powers in the current administration.

Kudirat Kekere-Ekun's appointment as the 23rd CJN is still pending confirmation by the Senate, and the controversy surrounding Seyi Tinubu's presence has only heightened the scrutiny on her new role.

She succeeded Olukayode Ariwoola, who assumed office on June 27, 2022, and bowed out on Thursday upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of 70 years.
