A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a female pedestrian on the Mowo axis of the Agbara-Badagry Expressway early Friday morning.
William Manga, the Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Badagry, confirmed the incident, stating that the accident occurred around 6 a.m. The FRSC unit received the distress call at 11:25 a.m., arriving at the scene within minutes.
"The accident took place at the Mosafejo-Mowo stretch of the expressway, involving an unidentified driver. Unfortunately, the victim sustained fatal head injuries and died before our team arrived," Manga explained.
The deceased has been taken to the mortuary at the General Hospital in Badagry. No personal belongings were recovered from the victim at the scene.
Manga advised pedestrians to exercise caution when crossing busy expressways and urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies.
