Afrobeats continues its global ascent as leading artists Omah Lay, Shallipopi, and Rema feature on the newly released EA SPORTS FC25 soundtrack. The highly anticipated playlist, unveiled today, includes tracks that will be played during in-game scenarios, further spotlighting Afrobeats on the international stage.
Omah Lay's hit song "Moving" from his forthcoming album *Clarity of Mind* makes a notable appearance on the playlist. The upbeat track offers a laid-back groove perfect for gamers to enjoy while navigating the virtual football world.
Rema and Shallipopi also contribute with their track *Benin Boys*, from Rema’s sophomore album *HEIS*. This song stands out as one of the few African records on the playlist, continuing Rema’s streak of global recognition.
South African star Moonchild Sanelly also makes a mark, with two of her songs, *Gwara Gwara* and *Big Man*, featured in the game’s lineup.
This isn't the first time Nigerian artists have graced the EA SPORTS franchise. Previous editions have included tracks by Fireboy DML, BNXN, Pheelz, and others, further cementing Afrobeats’ place in global pop culture.
EA SPORTS FC25, set for release on September 20, 2024, will feature 117 songs from artists across 27 countries, including international stars like Billie Eilish, Fred again.., Ice Spice, Charli XCX, and J Balvin. The playlist has been curated in collaboration with Spotify, marking three years of partnership between the two brands, combining football and music for fans worldwide.
The game will cover the 2023/2024 football season, and fans can already explore the full FC25 soundtrack on streaming platforms like Spotify.
