In his remarks, the Labour Party candidate expressed disappointment with the APC and PDP candidates, accusing them of neglecting an important platform for accountability and transparency. He argued that their absence showed a lack of commitment to addressing the state's pressing issues and engaging with voters. The Labour Party candidate further emphasized the importance of such debates in a democratic process, as they give citizens an opportunity to compare the ideas and policies of all contenders before making informed decisions at the polls.
The APC and PDP candidates, on the other hand, have not provided an official reason for their failure to attend the debate, leading to speculation among voters and political analysts in Edo State.
