Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has criticized President Bola Tinubu for opting to take his annual vacation in the United Kingdom rather than spending it in Nigeria.
Sowore, who is also a prominent human rights activist and the convener of the #RevolutionNow Movement, expressed his disapproval by questioning whether there were no suitable vacation spots in Nigeria for the President.
He further questioned how often the President goes on annual leave in a year, describing it as funny that a person who barely works goes on annual leave.
Sowore, in a post on his X account on Wednesday, said, “Tinubu is set to depart Nigeria today on ‘annual leave.’
“Me: Is there nowhere inside Nigeria to spend an annual leave? How often should a person go on “annual leave” in a year?
“Is it NOT funny that a person who barely works goes on ‘annual leave?’”
GISTMANIA earlier reported that President Tinubu departed Abuja on Wednesday for the UK to begin a two-week vacation, part of his yearly leave.
