On the night of October 16, 2024, bandits reportedly attacked the Unguwar Waliyi estate in Jibia town, located in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The assailants shot several residents during the raid and abducted a young woman from the residence of Alhaji Nasir.
The victim is said to be Nasir's cousin, and her parents were previously killed by bandits a few years ago, adding another layer of trauma to this tragedy.
The injured victims from the attack are receiving treatment at a hospital.
Katsina State, like other areas in northern Nigeria, has been grappling with the increasing violence from banditry, leading to kidnappings, killings, and displacement of residents.
These attacks continue to put pressure on the local authorities and security forces to find solutions to the insecurity in the region.
