In a candid interview, acclaimed Nollywood actress Ronke Odusanya has opened up about the turbulent end of her marriage to Saheed Olarewaju, commonly known as Jago, attributing part of the blame to a misleading friend.
Speaking with fellow actress Bimpe Akintunde, Ronke disclosed that her friend informed Jago of false claims suggesting she intended to leave him for a life of prostitution. The friend also alleged that Ronke had spent the night at a senator’s residence with their daughter, Fife, which deeply shocked Ronke.
Reflecting on the impact of these rumors, Ronke revealed, “When the situation escalated, my partner realized he shouldn’t have believed what he was told.” She recalled how her friend's betrayal took a toll on her, adding, “It left my mouth agape when he shared those allegations with me.”
The actress further shared the emotional and financial struggles she faced during the separation, mentioning that she had lost many of her possessions. “I had less than N10,000 in my account at the time,” she said, describing the moment she realized she had hit rock bottom. “All my jewelry was taken away, and I fainted from the shock. I had no idea where to start, and I cried so much that day because I couldn’t afford accommodation.”
Ronke’s story highlights the complex interplay of personal relationships and the devastating effects of betrayal, shedding light on the challenges she faced during one of the most difficult times in her life.
