The Kano State Fire Service made a grim discovery on Saturday, November 2, when they recovered the body of an unidentified man from a well in the Kumbotso Local Government Area.
Saminu Abdullahi, the spokesman for the Fire Service, reported that the central control room received an emergency call around 4:15 PM from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kwalli Police Division, prompting an immediate response.
Upon arrival at the scene, located at an uncompleted building on Kadama Bakin Titi, the rescue team found evidence of foul play, including dried blood stains surrounding the well. Looking into the well, they discovered the decomposing body of a man, believed to be around 25 years old, who did not appear to be known to the local residents.
According to locals, the condition of the body suggested that it had been submerged for approximately four days. After retrieving the body, the team turned it over to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sani Abdulhamid, the Duty Officer of Kumbotso Police Division, for further investigation.
Authorities are now working to identify the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
