A 30-year-old man, Olamide Akinolu, has been pronounced dead following an assault by unknown individuals at Osas Hotel, in the Wadoye community of Ifo Local Government Area in Ogun State.

Gistmania reported that Akinolu went to the hotel to meet a man he had paid N50,000 to rent musical instruments, where he was allegedly attacked by unidentified suspects.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the state’s police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the situation, saying the victim’s father reported the incident to the Command’s Ajuwon division.

Odutola stated that the victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

She said, “He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where the doctor pronounced him dead.

“This prompted a group of people to organise an attack on the hotel.

“The hotel manager was injured, and several instruments were damaged during the violence. Our officers were dispatched to the scene to restore order.

“Meanwhile, the body has been taken to a mortuary in Olambe for examination and autopsy.”

She stated that attempts were still underway to apprehend individuals guilty for the atrocity.
