Three Persons Dead, 14 Injured In Jigawa Road Accident

Three people reportedly lost their lives, and 14 others were injured in an accident in Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

A resident says that the accident occurred when a moving J5 vehicle collided with a parked Dangote trailer on old Gwaram Road.

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the police spokesman, confirmed the incident in a statement.

According to the statement: “Police on Tuesday at about 6:30 pm received a report that a J5 bus with registration No. KTG 196 XC, driven by one Wada Shuaibu of Laya village, Gwaram LGA, conveying 17 passengers from Sara market heading to Laya village, had an accident.

“On reaching Kwanar Mangwarori along old Gwaram road, the driver hit an empty Dangote trailer with registration No. BNK 447 XA, coming from old Gwaram to Kano State.”


He stated that the incident resulted in varied degrees of injury to the occupants of the J5 bus.

DSP Shiisu Adam stated that upon getting the report, a team of police officers proceeded to the spot and conveyed the victims to Gwaram Cottage Hospital for medical treatment.

He stated that three of the patients died, while others are still being treated in the hospital.

He claimed that after they were declared dead, the deceased’s corpses were released to their relatives.

The police spokesman also stated that an investigation has been initiated, and attempts are being made to locate and arrest the driver.
