The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two suspects for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
The spokesperson of the command, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, November 28, 2024, said the suspects, Abubakar Musa, 22 and Usman Ismail, 20, all of Nasarawo Quarters, armed with dangerous weapons, attacked some residents and disposed them of their valuables.
“On the 25th/11/2024 at about 1624hrs a formal complaint was received by the following persons: Abdullahi Umar “m” aged 26yrs, Aliyu Usman “m” aged 23yrs, Umar Sulaiman aged 24yrs and Haruna Muhammad “m” 16yrs all of BCGA quarters Akko L.G.A of Gombe State that on the 23/11/2024 at about 2000hrs, the above mentioned suspects conspired and armed themselves with some machetes, cutlass, Knife and stick and attacked the complainants at Hayin Kwarin Misau Quarters Gombe, behind Bago Primary school on their way going home from their various working places and disposed them of their valuable items which include: (1) one Tecno Cammon A 31 valued N50,000.00 (2) one keypad valued N6,500.00 (3) one Honor model 360 valued N250,000.00 (4) one soft touch Itel valued N207,000.00,” the statement read.
"On the receipt of the complaint, teams of Policemen from operation Hattara swung into action and rushed to the scene and the above mentioned suspects were arrested in connection to the alleged crime.
"However, during the course of investigation the said suspects admitted and confessed to the crime, they will soon be charged to court for prosecution.
“Exhibits recovered: 1 machete, 1 cutlass, 1 stick and knife.”
