Liverpool
Liverpool have been magnificent in their control and dominance of matches since the appointment of Arne Slot over the summer but the Reds did have their nine-point lead at the top-of-the-table shaved down to seven in midweek as they played out an extremely entertaining six-goal thriller with Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
In a topsy turvy clash, Liverpool fell behind before half-time via an excellent strike from Alexander Isak and were perhaps fortunate to only be one down at the break. Curtis Jones equalised in the second-half before Anthony Gordon re-established the Magpies’ lead. A Mohamed Salah brace saw the Reds ahead but Fabian Schar punished an error of judgement by Caoimhin Kelleher to snatch a point in the 90th minute for the hosts.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz
Unavailable: Alisson (Injured), Konate (Injured), Bradley (Injured), Tsimikas (Injured), Mac Allister (Suspended)
Questionable: Chiesa (Fitness), Jota (Fitness)
Prediction: Everton 0-2 Liverpool
