Troops of the Nigerian Army from 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven have eliminated several bandits in Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State.
In a post on its official X handle on Thursday, the military shared that the operation, which took place on Wednesday, also led to the rescue of 25 individuals who had been kidnapped.
The post claimed that during the operation, a number of hard narcotics were found, including energy drinks, tramadol, and clothing materials.
“The operation, code-named Operation GOLDEN PEACE, was conducted to ensure a secure harvest season and peaceful yuletide celebrations in the Joint Operations Area.
“Troops carried out intelligence-based offensive operations at several locations, including Ruwan Sanye, Randa, Rafin Gora, Libere Gari, and Libere Makaranta in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna Additionally, troops discovered an illegal clinic where the bandits treated their injured cohorts.
“The area has been cleared, and further operations are ongoing to intercept the remaining fleeing bandits.
“3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and property within the Joint Operations Area.
“The public is urged to continue supporting security agencies with timely intelligence to rid the area of criminal elements.”
