Rivers Police Neutralize Notorious Kidnap Kingpin & Cult Leader, Nkem ThankGod

The Rivers State Police Command has successfully neutralized a notorious kidnap kingpin and cult leader, Nkem ThankGod, a.k.a. “2man,” who allegedly k!lled four police officers, a couple, and a youth president.
 
The 42-year-old murder suspect from Ogbologbolo Community, Ahoada West Local Government Area of the state, was also fingered in the m8rder of two Shell staff, a spare parts dealer and other heinous crimes.
 
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, disclosed this during a press briefing where he paraded the lifeless body of the criminal at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
 
According to the CP, the criminal met his waterloo following an intelligence-led operation while attempting to abduct a target with his gang in Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state on Thursday afternoon.
 
“This individual, a leader of the Greenlander Cult Group, had been responsible for a series of heinous crimes in Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs, including murder, killing the Youth President of Okogbe Community, Mr. Christmas Ede, on December 21, 2021, multiple killings in 2024, including two PMF 48 personnel, three civilians (Mr. and Mrs. Rex Kiriki and Mrs. Abigail Victor), and a spare parts dealer after collecting ransom, murdering two Shell staff in Okogbe and stealing their Toyota Hilux,” the CP stated.
 
Other crimes include, police Attacks, shooting SP Bello during a rescue operation in 2022, killing two Rapid Response Team officers in early 2023, kidnapping and robbery, kidnapping and carjacking a red Toyota Camry from Dare Shola in October 2024, orchestrating several kidnappings and extorting ransoms before k!lling victims and frequent vandalization of oil pipelines and government installations in Ahoada West.

 
“Nkem ThankGod met his end during an intelligence-led operation while attempting another kidnapping. His gang members managed to escape with injuries, and efforts are underway to apprehend them,” the CP stated.
 
"Exhibits recovered: two (2) AK-47 rifles, five (5) magazines, twenty-two (22) rounds of live ammunition
 
“The Rivers State Police Command reaffirms its commitment to protecting lives and property and will continue working to dismantle criminal networks in the region.”
