A 15-year-old girl, Kemisola, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for attempting to poison her friend in a vengeful act.
According to a statement released on Friday, December 6, 2024, by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami, the arrest follows an incident that occurred four months ago. After being reprimanded by her friend’s mother, Kemisola decided to take revenge by poisoning her friend.
She allegedly added the toxic pesticide, Sniper, to the girl’s food and water. However, the plan was thwarted as the intended victim did not consume the contaminated food.
"This is a case of ‘if I can’t get the mother, I will get the child,’" Odunlami explained. "Fortunately, the young girl did not eat the food, which saved her life."
The police spokesperson urged parents to closely monitor their children’s activities to prevent such dangerous incidents. The teenager will face charges as investigations continue.
