In a historic milestone for the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Deputy Superintendent Olanike Balogun has been announced as the agency's first female pilot. The announcement, made by NCS spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada on Sunday, underscores the Service's dedication to advancing gender inclusion and professional excellence.
The Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, praised Balogun’s achievement, calling it a reflection of the organization’s ongoing investment in innovation and capacity development. “Her journey is a powerful reminder of what determination and institutional support can accomplish,” Adeniyi remarked.
In her response, Balogun expressed pride in her groundbreaking accomplishment and encouraged women to remain steadfast in pursuing their ambitions. "Being the first female pilot in the NCS Airwing is not just a personal triumph but a beacon of inspiration for women within and beyond the service. It represents my dedication to achieving my dreams while enhancing the operational capabilities of the NCS," she said.
