In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Saudi authorities have arrested four Nigerian nationals for attempting to distribute 39 kilograms of cocaine in Jeddah. The suspects were detained by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, according to a report from the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

The arrests are part of a wider operation by Saudi security forces targeting drug-related crimes across the Kingdom. Recently, Border Guard patrols in Jazan intercepted large quantities of qat, a stimulant, with 270 kilograms seized in Al-Aridah and 126 kilograms in Al-Dayer. Additionally, a local citizen was apprehended in Al-Dayer for attempting to transport qat in his vehicle.

In another operation, authorities arrested a Pakistani national in the Eastern Province for selling methamphetamine, also known as shabu.

Legal procedures have already been initiated, and all seized drugs have been transferred to the relevant authorities for further processing.

Saudi security forces have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any information related to drug smuggling or distribution, as they continue their efforts to combat narcotics-related crimes in the Kingdom.
