TikTok user @_therealnugwa has captured widespread attention as she shared her harrowing experience with a second ear piercing that resulted in the growth of a keloid. In a video that has gone viral, she recounted how what initially seemed like a minor procedure led to a persistent health challenge.
Over two years, a keloid—an overgrowth of scar tissue—formed at the site of the piercing, eventually reaching the size of a peanut.
The condition caused her significant distress, prompting her to seek surgical removal and undergo additional treatments to address the issue.
She included the caption: “If only I knew what was waiting for me.”
Despite successfully undergoing surgery, she disclosed that she is required to undergo cryotherapy to mitigate the risk of the keloid reemerging.
She stated, “There’s a high tendency for it to grow back, according to my doctor. I just had the surgery, so I still need to undergo a procedure called cryotherapy to prevent it from returning.”
Numerous individuals who have faced similar challenges have since shared their own experiences in response to her post, while others have expressed their sympathy for her situation.
