The teenager, referred to as Rosie in the Family Court, believed she was a boy since she was a toddler and has been diagnosed with gender identity disorder, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Rosie was only two-years-old when she asked her father if she could have an operation to get a penis, the court heard.
By the age of three Rosie was refusing to wear girl's clothes and begged her parents to call her a boy's name and have her hair cut like a boy.
The court heard Rosie became depressed when she got her period, just before her 12th birthday, and wore tight vests to stop her Bosom s from growing.
The hormone treatment means Rosie will stop going through the female aspects of puberty and she will develop facial hair and a deeper voice.
