Jakes Oyilom, a Nigerian man, recently recalled a harrowing experience from December 10, 2005, when he narrowly missed the Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 that tragically crashed at the Port Harcourt International Airport.

The crash claimed the lives of 108 people onboard, including 60 students from Loyola Jesuit College and prominent televangelist Bimbo Odukoya.

Oyilom explained that a 5-minute delay was the only thing that prevented him from boarding the flight, which has remained one of the deadliest aviation disasters in Nigerian history.

The devastating incident, which left many families and communities in mourning, is still remembered for the immense loss of life, particularly the young students who were on their way home for the holidays.

"It's another 10th December. A day of sober reflection for me, like it has been for the past 19 years," he wrote in an emotional post on the 19th anniversary of the tragic plane crash.

"Yes it's my birthday!!!!!! But IF NO BE GOD WHERE I FOR DEY???

"I just want to thank God for preserving my life. I have had to walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, fought battles, faced challenges and by the mercies of the God of Jacob, I prevailed.

"I recall that day......10th December 2005, when this God caused a 5 minutes delay in my schedule to preserve my life.

“That delay on my way to the airport in Abuja made me to miss the Sosoliso Airline that took off from Abuja and eventually crashed in Port Harcourt. To you ALONE be ALL the Glory and Praise.”
