The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three suspected gunrunners.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, identifying the suspects as Buhari Suleiman, Jamil Yakubu, and Aliyu Abdullahi.
The suspects were apprehended on Monday along the Kaduna-Kano motorway in Kaduna State, according to the statement.
Adejobi stated that the operatives recovered 216 rounds of 9mm live ammunition and one round of AK-47 ammunition.
“The suspects were apprehended after the police operatives noticed their suspicious activities and approached them to question them.
“A subsequent search was conducted, which led to the recovery of 216 rounds of 9mm live ammunition and 1 round of Ak-47 ammunition,” he said.
