Nigerian actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo has issued a stern warning regarding the welfare of human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi, who remains in prison custody amid a defamation case involving renowned legal icon Afe Babalola. Okonkwo voiced his concerns on Instagram, urging authorities to ensure Farotimi's safety and health while in detention.

In his post, Okonkwo emphasized the need for vigilance, writing,
Quote
*"Nothing should happen to Dele Farotimi in prison. He was hale and hearty when unjustly arrested, and he must be healthier whenever he comes out."*
He warned against any claims of sudden health issues, such as cardiac arrest or brief illness, stating that the government holding Farotimi is responsible for his wellbeing.

The actor-politician also speculated that efforts to resolve the matter through alternative means might emerge if Farotimi resists intimidation. He called on authorities to uphold the integrity of the judicial process, asserting that *"the whole world is watching."* Okonkwo concluded his post with a rallying call: *#FreeDeleFarotimiNow.*

Farotimi’s detention has sparked discussions on the intersection of justice, power, and human rights in Nigeria, with many expressing solidarity and concern over his situation.
