Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has humorously debunked the claim of colleague Toyin Abraham that she recently acquired a new house and a car.
The playful moment unfolded during the premiere of Abraham’s movie, Alakada! Bahd and Boujee, held on Sunday night at Filmhouse IMAX, Lekki, Lagos.
While addressing the audience, Abraham expressed gratitude to her cast and crew before announcing that Ademoye, one of the film’s stars, had made some impressive purchases.
“Bimbo just bought a car and a house, put it on social media, Bimbo just a car … Latest Benz,” Abraham said on stage.
Her statement drew a swift reaction from fellow cast member Ini Edo, who tapped Abraham on the shoulder and seemingly whispered to her.
Toyin Abraham laughed off the moment, admitting she was only joking.
On Monday, Bimbo Ademoye responded to the claims in her signature witty style through a post on Instagram.
Mixing humor and pidgin English, she joked about not being at such a financial level and wondered aloud about the whereabouts of the supposed house and car.
She teased and blamed Toyin’s movie character ‘Yetunde Animashun’ as being the culprit.
“Yetunde Animashaun paro ku. She even dropped one lie last night at the premiere of #AlakadaBadandBoujee. House and car whereeeeeee, wey I never chop belleful,” Ademoye wrote.
