A Nigerian man has taken to social media to share a heartbreaking incident in which his dog died after consuming a poisoned meal that was apparently intended for him. The tragic event, which has sparked concern and debate online, occurred when an unidentified individual poisoned food placed near a kitchen window.
The incident came to light through a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, by friends of the victim. According to the account, the perpetrator mistook a neatly served and well-cooked meal in the kitchen for the man's food and slipped poison into it through an open window, as they could not access the building directly.
Unaware of the danger, the dog ate the meal and tragically passed away shortly after.
The statement read: *“Someone poisoned a meal meant for dogs in my friend’s kitchen. Apparently, the person thought it was for a human because it was placed in a neat plate and was a well-cooked meal. One of the dogs ate the food and died last night.”*
The affected individual expressed deep fear and distrust in people, adding: *“I’m scared of humans at this point.”*
