January 16, 2025, an official portrait of Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States has been released ahead of his inauguration on January 20.
The Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery has installed a photograph of President-elect Trump taken by Pari Dukovic in 2019.
This photograph, depicting Trump seated at the Resolute Desk, is on display from January 13 through February 11, 2025, to coincide with the 60th presidential inauguration.
The official commissioned portrait of President Trump will be unveiled by the National Portrait Gallery following his final term in office.
This practice aligns with the tradition of unveiling presidential portraits after a president's term concludes. Notably, Trump is the only U.S. president aside from Grover Cleveland to have won a non-consecutive second term.

The National Portrait Gallery's "America's Presidents" exhibition, which includes portraits of all U.S. presidents, currently features a photograph of Trump taken by Matt McClain in 2017. This exhibition is the only complete collection of presidential portraits outside the White House.
