A Nigerian man has left social media abuzz after revealing that he diverted funds intended for his child’s naming ceremony to conduct a DNA test to confirm the baby’s paternity.
The confession, shared on X (formerly Twitter), quickly garnered attention. In his post, the man disclosed that he opted for the test when his child was two months old. Now, as the baby approaches eight months, he reflected on his decision with no regrets.
He wrote, *“This month will mark my baby’s 8th month. Six months ago, I used the naming ceremony money for a DNA test. When I saw the results, I noticed how my woman was looking at me with bad eyes, but in my mind, I’m a happy man.”*
The man also detailed how his wife initially resisted the idea of the test but eventually agreed after he implied doubts about the child’s paternity.
*“At first, she didn’t want to answer me,”* he explained. *“But once I made allegations that the child wasn’t mine, she immediately started crying and followed me to the hospital.”*
The revelation has sparked mixed reactions online. While some praised his decision as a prudent step in establishing trust, others criticized it as an unnecessary and hurtful action.
The post highlights growing conversations about paternity testing and trust in relationships, drawing divided opinions on social media.
