A disturbing incident of alleged abuse has surfaced within the Nigerian Army, where Lance Corporal Samuel P. is reported to have suffered severe mistreatment by a senior officer at the 93 Battalion in Taraba State.
According to SaharaReporters, the incident occurred on January 12, 2025, at approximately 8:10 a.m., while preparations were underway for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day parade in Jalingo. Sources familiar with the situation revealed that LCpl Samuel P. arrived late to the event, which prompted an immediate reprimand from Lieutenant B. Mohammed.
A video of the incident, which has since circulated online, shows the lieutenant ordering the soldier to perform "forward rolls" as punishment. The video then depicts Sergeant Steven handing a stick to the officer, who is seen using it to flog the soldier.
In an additional photograph obtained by reporters, LCpl Samuel P.'s leg is visibly bandaged and soaked in blood, offering a chilling visual confirmation of the alleged assault.
The case has raised serious concerns about the treatment of soldiers within the military, and authorities are being urged to investigate the matter thoroughly.
