The Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad has arrested two university students suspected to be cult members in the early hours of Sunday.
The RRS revealed this in a statement on X on Thursday.
The suspects, Okey Bright, 21, also known as “B in Fine Boy,” and Daniel Prince, 22, also called “Rugged Promotion,” were reportedly arrested around 4:00 a.m. while returning from an annual confraternity conference at a hotel in Lekki.
The statement partly read, “Preliminary investigations revealed that Bright, a resident of Ikoyi, joined the confraternity in 2024. He is a university student. Prince, who goes by the alias “Rugged Promotion”, is a hairstylist and a university student.
“Their arrest was prompted by the suspicious movement of one of the suspects, Daniel Prince, who was carrying a cross bag.
“In Prince’s bag, the operatives discovered caps associated with the confraternity, leading to the immediate arrest of both suspects.”
The suspects have allegedly been handed over to the Commissioner of Police’s Special Squad for further investigation.
In the statement, the RRS stated that the suspects’ arrest underscores the state command’s continued efforts to tackle cult-related activities and uphold law and order.
