Timaya has raised concerns over the destruction of farmlands in his home state, Bayelsa, allegedly by cattle herders
In a post on his X account, he urged the government to intervene, saying:
“Pls the government should do something. They are destroying farms in Bayelsa. Aboki, take your cow inside and feed them. This is so sad.”
Timaya’s outcry comes amid growing tensions between farmers and herders in the state. In recent months, local farmers have complained about cattle grazing on their crops, leading to significant losses.
While the Bayelsa State government has taken steps to enforce anti-open grazing laws, including impounding stray cattle, many believe stronger measures are needed to protect farmlands and livelihoods.
