In the early hours of Friday, troops of the Joint Task Force successfully repelled an attempted Boko Haram attack on a military base in Waga Village, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The incident, reported by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama via his X handle, occurred around 3:30 a.m. when insurgents launched a surprise assault on the base.
According to intelligence sources cited by Makama, the troops responded swiftly and decisively, forcing the attackers into a retreat. The soldiers’ rapid counteroffensive prevented what could have been a deadly assault on both the base and the surrounding community.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties were recorded among the security forces or civilians, and normalcy has since returned to the area.
The latest attack underscores the continued threat posed by insurgent groups in the region, despite ongoing military operations aimed at dismantling their strongholds.
