Renowned Nollywood actress Dupe Jaiyesimi has opened up about her lifelong battle with childlessness, sharing her emotional journey as she celebrated her 60th birthday.
Speaking candidly, Jaiyesimi revealed how years of waiting and hoping for a child ended in heartbreak. "I waited for years, but it never happened,” she said. Her joy turned to sorrow when she finally conceived at 40, only to learn the pregnancy was ectopic — growing outside her womb.
Undeterred, the actress pursued in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments multiple times, but each attempt ended in disappointment. “Every failed IVF felt like losing a child all over again,” she confessed.
Throughout the years, Jaiyesimi poured her love into caring for other children, hoping to find solace. However, she expressed sadness that none acknowledged her sacrifices. Adoption, she said, wasn’t an option either — her mother firmly opposed it.
Now embracing life at 60, Jaiyesimi says her faith remains unshaken. "If there is life, there is hope," she declared, praying for strength in her later years.
Her story has touched many, sparking conversations about resilience, societal expectations, and the silent struggles faced by women longing for motherhood.
