The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the death of Mr. Adedokun Oluyemi, the supervisor of Solution One Hotel in Ago Oko, Abeokuta, who was found lifeless in his room on Saturday morning.

According to police spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola, Oluyemi's body was discovered by the hotel’s bar assistant, identified as Taiyelolu, after several failed attempts to reach him. The discovery was made around 6 a.m. when Taiyelolu, noticing the unusual silence, forced the door open and found Oluyemi unresponsive on the bed.

The incident was immediately reported to the Oke Itoku Police Division, prompting swift intervention from emergency responders. Oluyemi was rushed to the State Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Odutola stated that initial examinations found no signs of physical harm on the deceased’s body, raising questions about the sudden nature of his death.

“The scene was assessed by officers, and no visible injuries or disturbances were noted in the room. His remains have been deposited at the State Hospital mortuary for an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death,” Odutola said.

The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiry. Police assured that a comprehensive review would be conducted to rule out foul play.

Meanwhile, the command extended its condolences to the bereaved family and Oluyemi's colleagues, urging employers to prioritize regular health checkups and medical support for staff.

“We sympathize with the family and the hotel’s management during this difficult time. This incident underscores the importance of routine medical checkups and ensuring staff welfare,” Odutola added.

As investigations continue, authorities have assured the public of transparency in handling the case while efforts are underway to inform Oluyemi’s family formally.
